burly bird zine was first conceptualized at Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT where Burly had received a writing grant to hole himself away for a month and work on a novel. He was overwhelmed by the amount of talented artists that surrounded him and realized that he needed to find a medium to showcase the works of his peers. burly bird zine captures the many voices of his generation, not only voices of Vermont, but also those that embrace our creative spirit. Zines are printed on 100% recycled paper and each copy is hand-sewn. It’s distributed throughout the Burlington, Vermont area, but also found in pockets of New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and Washington, DC. burly bird zine can be found in grocery stores, cafes, retail shops, music venues, yoga studios, health food stores, restaurants, bars, public bathrooms, street corners, trash bins, park benches, and other places where a previous reader may leave a copy for you to find.
